- You must provide a cage/pen that is at least 4 foot long and 2 foot wide.
- All pens/cages must be housed either in a shed or appropriate outbuilding (eg not with a tumble dryer where condensation and damp are). Any cages that are outside in the summer must come in again from September-May. We are, of course, more than happy for them to be house guineas
- The cage should have adequate housing hidey holes in (or not if that is better).

guineapigcages.com/ ... why rewrite the guinea pig cage bible? Take a look at this site for info on indoor cages Regarding two storey cages: The adopter must provide a cage that has at least one single floor that is 4 foot by 2 foot, any extra levels are merely a bonus. Guineas do not always wish to use 2 levels therefore the main living area MUST be 4 foot by 2 foot. Two storey cages are not the ideal cage, guineas were not made to climb and do not have giant back feet like bunnys do. If you must choose a 2 storey cage please take advice from us first (if you wish to rehome one oif our guineas).

These size recommendations are in line with the Animal Welfare Act Recommendations, pet shops etc can sell you smaller, cheaper cages and not be breaking the law (yet) but it doesn't make it OK to house guineas in them
