All of us at RGPR are volunteers with our own families, jobs and lives. Homecheckers do so at their convenience and when possible where they consider the need is greatest. Please consider that they will probably spend an hour approximately with you and on top of that have driven to you and will be driving back which will take time out of their day. They are happy to do this or they obviously wouldn't have volunteered but it should be appreciated. Fosterers: Fosterers spend much of their time rehabilitating and evaluating guinea pigs so that they can be rehomed with Humans that will appreciate them most. Days will be allocated for cleaning out etc and you may have to fit your visit around that. To minimise time spent with potential adopters and maximise time for guinea pigs we only allow viewings when the home has been approved. At different times of the year we will also be busy organising Open Days and the like.

Fundraisers We have an ever growing team of fund raisers at rGPR, too many to mention but if you've been to one of our events you'll have met them. Without them these events wouldn't happen. Our team of fundraisers is growing steadily, so our Piggie PMs etc are steadily getting bigger and better but ultimately we are raising more awareness in Reading and beyond about the correct care of guineas. We also have a very good time at these meetings so everyone's happy

RSPCA Reading and Oxon: Our local RSPCA Branch have a large part to play in rescuing guinea pigs, without them we simply couldn't do it. We do not have the personal funds (or the time to raise them) needed to provide the veterinary care necessary to rehabilitate and rehome guinea pigs. RSPCA Reading and Oxon are the security that is needed to fund the rescue.

Whilst we have enough fosterers and homecheckers, fundraisers etc are most welcome, we are sure we can put you to some use, even if you are no where near Reading If you feel that it is fosterering and homechecking you want to do why not contact the local branch of Reading and Oxon Branch RSPCA who may need help
