Pain will obviously vary according to the work done, and possibly the method used, also the competance of the person doing it. However it is likely that some form of relief will be needed and a good vet should offer oral pain relief. Without it guinea is unlikely to eat and despite having dental correction it is very possible he/she will die. A guinea with a painful mouth will not eat. Even with relief some guineas will need syringe feeding. Some guineas will eat not long after having dental work but once again ech case is different .
