Guinea pigs do not need vitamin C given as a supplement, except perhaps if they are very ill. Their daily requirement is 15-30mg depending on the guinea pig (ie maintenance/breeding etc). Most guineas should be getting over 100mg of vitamin C from their fresh food alone, this is in addition to their dry food (which varies greatly in Vitamin C content (as revealed in our satin study). The tablet I use here is the Oxbow GTN tablet, I get them from www.sphsupplies.co.uk simply pop the required amount onto the tongue at the back of the mouth or the back teeth and guinea will crunch them. No need for messy mixing, syringing or leaving to chance by putting in the water bottle. Vit C should not be put in the bottle because it can affect the taste of the water which will deter drinking (provide another bottle of water if you must put it in the bottle). However the vitamin will break down and become useless so this really isn't a good way to give it.
