The only food that is based on Timothy Grass which has a correct Calcium to Phosphorus ratio (Ca:Ph) is Oxbow Cavy Cuisine. The majority of others contain Alfalfa which is not correctly balanced and is high in Protein. These foods will contribute to a diet to high in Phosphorus leading to other problems. There are pony nuts that are based on Tim grass but they are jaw breakers for guineas and a waste of money because of their size. On Planet Guinea I feed a diet mainly of Cavy Cuisine and sometimes Chudleys rabbit Royale as a treat. In December, 2 of the guineas that were brought in and brought their food with them was Cavy Cuisine, maybe people are taking more notice of their guineas' diet now, this would never have happened 8 years ago!
