Although injuries are generally attributed to straw pokes hay can cause injury too. Guineas love to tunel through hay which is when pokes may happen. Another cause of injury are the seeds that are in hay, care can be taken to shake most out before giving to guinea buit it isn't unreasonable to expect one to still be lurking These generally get lodged in the upper and lower lids. Take to the vet in case of infection if there have been any pokes, a seed lodged in the lids should be gently flushed out with cooled boiled water.
