All products containing water will contain preservatives. The only way to get a product without preservatives, that I know of, is to extract it from the plant itself. Aloe Vera is a good example of this. Aloe Vera taken from the plant is only 'fresh' for a short amount of time I believe and obviously as soon as it is exposed it becomes open to sorts of bacteria and the like. Much like opening a fresh bag of hay, the minute its open there's nothing to stop fungal spores invading so who who cares where they came from!
(I have no idea if it matters which part of the plant or the concentration/amount needed). Any Aloe Vera gel for example must contain a preservative- think about your water bottles and how quickly the mould grows in them...
Best way to find out what is in a product is to mail the manufacturer. Also ask for the amount of preservative they are using as this is usually relevant. What is the shelf life of the product? Often supermarket and shop sold products will have a long shelf life indicating that they may have more preservative perhaps? As all businesses etc have to answer to regulatory bodies (online and offline, ie shops!), they are forthcoming with information when asked despite the fact that by law there is no requirement to declare all the ingredients.
