No, I have some reservations about this as although I am not against showing guinea pigs, showing pets in a one off situation does concern me a little. Although, all guinea pigs should be used to travelling, in my opinion, and also used to being handled. BUT, not all guinea pigs would enjoy showing and I know that lots of exhibitors (myself included) have decided against showing certain guinea pigs because they do not enjoy them and do not do well.
There is a view that showing encourages breeding, to be honest I feel it also puts people off but you never hear about them! I was eventually put off breeding Abyssinians because it is the boars that do best in that variety and keeping a large number of boars isn't as easy as keeping sows!
