Often this is because she is weaning them, guineas are weaned at 2 weeks old but domesticated guineas will drink for weeks after that if allowed to! I think they must wear some sows down to the point of them just giving in and letting them drink whereas in the wild they might be chased away from the herd, or at least to a different part of the herd!
Boars must be taken out at 3 weeks anyway and sows can be seperated then too ifthey are big and healthy. I do take sow pups out simply because the mums seem to want a break from raising the litter. Only Angel and Buffy were inseperable and were rehomed together.
